Senate Bill 39

UPDATE 3/3/11:  All the emails to the Senate Judiciary Committee worked! Senate Bill 39 is out of committee and in the senate. Thank you all for getting involved and making noise with us! The war isn't over but we sure won this battle.

We have our bill.

Here is the completed and filed child sex offender bill that is going to be introduced to the Senate Judiciary Committee. Click 'pdf' on the web page to see the full text. It will probably be changed a few times before it gets put up for a vote but we think it's a really good start. Thank you Senator Olson!

About Senate Bill 39 (SB39)

SB39:  Creating the classification of "aggravated sex offender;" creating additional penalties and restrictions for sex offenders.

Our bill, sponsored by Senator Rob Olsonis a Kansas bill that will put restrictions on child sex offenders.  Our goal is to help protect ALL the children of Kansas.

The bill, as currently written, will put a barrier between convicted child sex offenders and our precious children.  Please support Senate Bill 39 by joining the Kansas Rights 4 Kids' facebook group and following us on twitter.

Our group, Kansas Rights 4 Kids, has been working with Senator Rob Olson on creating a bill that would put a variety of restrictions & regulations on child sex offenders.  We began our journey this past summer when a convicted child sex offender moved into our neighborhood, 208 feet from our school in Olathe, KS.  Our group has grown to include people from all over Kansas.  On Jan 20 Senator Olson officially filed the bill in the Senate (SB39).  Our group will be testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee chaired by Senator Tim Owens on Feb 8th at 9:30 am.  Below you will find links to our facebook page and website that will provided you will additional information.  Please contact us with any questions you may have.  [email protected]
